    Long Island University - Brentwood

About the College

The Brentwood Campus of Long Island University (LIU) was established in 1959. It is situated on over 170 acres of land in central Suffolk County, Long Island. The property was once owed by the Sisters of St. Joseph’s. The branch was established as a way to accommodate the ever growing student population. In fact, they decided to take a different approach with education and offer courses and programs for people who are already in the workforce and other courses that benefits the community.

LIU Brentwood offers unique continuing educational courses in Financial Planning and Drivers Education. The Financial Planning program offers professionals the ablility to earn a Certified Financial Planner certification. Once they have received this certification, they are qualified to work with clients on financial planning. The other continuing education course, Drivers Education, is offered to the public over the age of 16. Upon completion of the course, it allows the student to take the driving test for a New York driving license.

The Brentwood Campus also offers an undergraduate degree program in Criminal Justice. It is this Criminal Justice undergraduate program sets this campus apart from the other LIU campuses. This program is one of a kind. Upon graduation with the B.A. degree, students will be gamefully employed through a variety of law enforcement agencies and facilities.

The Graduate Programs offered at the Brentwood campus are numerous. You can choose a program from the School of Education, the School of Public Service or the College of Management. The School of Education is a program that helps to prepare all educators, from teachers to administrators, prepare for the many different aspects of the field of education from counseling to curriculum and special education. The School of Public Service is unique in that it offers students the ability to choose a career in the field of criminal justice and security administration. The College of Management gives students the ability to work towards their Masters of Business Administration. All of these graduate programs are usually offered during times (such as weekends and evenings) when professionals are able to attend and still continue in the workforce.

The Brentwood Campus also offers a unique 'Fast Track Program'. It is this program that allows students to continue working while attending college working towards their graduate degree. The 'Fast Track Program' allows students to complete the entire Masters programs during nonworking hours and in a much shorter period of time. This allows students to take advantage of reduced tuition costs.

Regardless of the program that you choose, LIU Brentwood, New York campus offers each student an individualized education.
