About the College

Founded in 1966, Briarcliffe College was established to fulfill the need for higher education options of Long Island residents. As the population and businesses of Long Island increased, there was a need for an educational institution that focused on the needs of the businesses. They established an excellent relationship with businesses. This relationship allowed the college to offer classes that target skills and offer degrees specific to the businesses in the area. Today, Briarcliffe College continues to offer a professional learning environment that allows students to choose a career, better a career or change their career choice altogether.

The original campus is located in Bethpage, New York. It is a beautiful 18 acre campus that is located in suburban Long Island. It is ideally located for its commuting population. This is because it is about a half an hour from beautiful beaches as well as half an hour from the downtown arts, entertainment, and dining delights of New York City.

With the ever growing population, Briarcliffe College found it necessary to add another campus. So in 1980 a campus in Patchogue was established. One of the biggest draws to this campus is that they were able to offer day and evening classes. The evening classes filled quickly with career minded people looking to further their careers. The Patchogue Campus is located on the southern shores of Long Island. It is at this campus that the sports and recreation stand out. With its many parks, athletic fields and tennis courts, it is perfect for students of all ages to participate in some type of recreation activity.

Briarcliffe's Queens Campus is the newest of the Campuses. It is in a beautiful suburban part of Long Island that is noted for its multicultural roots. Conveniently located students from Queens, Brooklyn, Manhattan and the Bronx have easy access to this campus. It is the perfect place for those looking for quality education in a setting that is just minutes from all that the great city of New York has to offer. It is also an excellent choice for those who work in Manhattan or New York City and are looking to further their education.

Briarcliffe College is one of the few colleges out there that not only offers many competitive degree programs and quality eduction, but they also offer assistance in job placement. Having built excellent relationships with many businesses on Long Island, they understand what it is that potential employers are looking for from college graduates. Briarcliffe College offers career targeted programs that prepare students for entry directly into the workforce.

In the past 30 plus years, Briarcliffe has consistently produces top students ready to enter into their careers. If you are looking for a college that offers you big city education with a small town feel, then Briarcliffe College is a place you should really check into.
