The New York State Board of Regents chartered the New York College of Health Professions and it is known as one of the leading colleges of Holistic medicine in the US.

For 20 years this College has specialized in degrees for, Massage Therapy, Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, and a Certificate program in Holistic Nursing.

New York College of Health Professions teaches with the highest standards of education and training in Massage Therapy, Amma Therapeutic Massage, Acupuncture, Oriental Medicine, and Holistic nursing for future Holistic practitioners that will come. The College has a facility in china where they also teach, along with their main school being based in the United States.

New York College of Health Professions has an Integrative Health Center and it is part of its professional family clinic of New York College. The skills and services of MDs and holistic practioners have been used here for about 25 years for patients. A broad range of therapies are available like programs to stop smoking, acupuncture, herbal medicine, sports, Reiki, Shiatsu, reflexology and pregnancy massage, Amma Therapeutic Massage, biofeedback, chiropractic, cancer support and even weight loss .

The New York College of Health Professions Research Department is scientific research pioneer's in holistic therapies and other products to help aid our society with certain therapies and these sale help fund the school. Over the years all of the programs have grown and advanced, including curriculums that integrate the methodologies of the East and the West for both preventative and curative medicine. One of the largest schools of Holistic medicine in the country and today it has the largest out-patient integrative health clinic and teaching clinic facility where students perform their internship.

The NYS Board of Education approved its program for acupuncture in 1992 and was in fact the 1st to be approved in the state making it the fore runner and in 1998 it became accredited for Bachelor and Master Degrees, and then the school changed its name to the New York College for Wholistic Health, Education and Research. The New York College of Health Professions is located in Syosset, New York and its campus is around 35 acres, the facility encompasses some 70,000 sq ft.

New York Colleges Oriental Herbal Clinic has professional consultations for patients at discounted prices. First time patients are only charged $ 50.00 and then returning visits cost only $30.00 Students sit in and observe during these consultations and it is recommended that you make regular visits during the first weeks to you are responding to any treatments given. If any thing is prescribed it can conveniently be filled at the Herbal Dispensary. Most prescriptions come in the way of herbal tea, concentrated powder, or tablets.

New York College of Health Professions has a vast wealth of medical resources at its James and Lenore Jacobson Library. This vast collection of materials about Holistic medicine is available for not just the students but also the general public and the facility of the college. Some of the topics that can be found include journals specializing in Oriental medicine, acupuncture, herbal medicine, massage therapy, and Holistic nursing.

Gale's Health Reference Center provides additional medical information by way of its computerized collections that contains a data bank of complete articles from periodicals, focuses on Holistic approaches to health care and medicine. There is Internet, e-mail, word-processing, and spreadsheet applications provided as well. The New York College of Health Professions has membership with The American Massage Therapy Association Council of Schools, Council of Colleges of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, American Oriental Bodywork Therapy Association Council of Schools & Programs, BPS/MS Program in Oriental Medicine is approved by the California Acupuncture Board and the Association of Teachers of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.

The College is a "501 C3 non-profit organization governed by a Board of Trustees. The Board of Trustees oversees the organization to ensure movement toward the College's short and long range plans. It is responsible for selecting and evaluating the officers of the College. The Board is also involved in developing strategies to advance the mission of the school, and is actively involved in opening up new business and academic opportunities for the College." The New York College of Health Professions has many other well-known credentials and awards.

This College offers an experience of a lifetime for students who attend this field of education. Students will experience first-hand the therapies and treatments in real time as part of their clinical training and education. The faculty is committed and work hard to support students in every aspect of their academics. Students will be encouraged to take advantage of our Holistic cafe, a variety of physical arts classes, and our Herbal Dispensary.
